1951: Vernon Memorial Hospital opened for patient care in September.
A maternity wing was added, expanding care for growing families in the community.
Diagnostic and outpatient services were added, increasing access to care close to home.
The Emergency Department opened.
Vernon Memorial acquired Kickapoo Valley Medical Clinic in Soldiers Grove.
Acquired Bland Clinic in Westby and Hirsch Clinic in Viroqua.
A three-story addition was completed, including an expanded Emergency Room.
Continued growth and expansion of services to meet evolving community needs.
Acquired La Farge Medical Clinic.
A Medical Office Building was added to the hospital.
Hirsch Clinic moved into the Medical Office Building.
Acquired Solar Town Pharmacy in Soldiers Grove.
La Farge Clinic rebuilt into a new facility.
Buildout of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy on the third floor of the Medical Office Building.
GI buildout completed.
Hospital kitchen and café remodeled.
Surgery Suite added and Operating Room updated.
Second South Hospital remodel completed.
Emergency Room remodeled.
Imaging remodel completed, including updates to mammography and X-ray services.
2021: Assessment began to evaluate the need for an updated brand.
2022–2023: New Mission, Vision, and Values introduced, supported by a strategic plan for future development.
2024: Input from staff and the community helped shape a new identity while honoring Vernon Memorial Healthcare’s legacy.
2025: Launch of the new brand and transition to Vernon Health.
