Join a mission-driven team committed to delivering exceptional, local healthcare since 1951.
We foster a collaborative, compassionate environment where every team member is respected, supported, and empowered to thrive.
Vernon Health is an independent, nonprofit healthcare organization serving the Driftless Region since 1951. With a Critical Access Hospital, four Rural Health Clinics, specialty services, and a full range of hospital departments, we provide high-quality care close to home — and meaningful career opportunities for those who share our mission.
Our culture is built on five core virtues that guide how we care for our patients and support one another:
Kindness — We lead with compassion and respect.
Communication — We listen, share openly, and choose the right methods of communication.
Growth — We support professional development and continuous learning.
Appreciation — We recognize the value of every team member’s contributions.
Collaboration — We work together to create exceptional care and a positive workplace.
Vernon Health is proud to offer competitive benefits, opportunities for advancement, strong onboarding, and a supportive environment focused on teamwork, respect, and professional growth.

To request a job shadow experience, contact Organizational Development/Learning at 608-637-4407 and submit your completed job shadow application and registration. Please allow at least three weeks’ notice when scheduling. Department guidelines, dress codes, and all patient privacy requirements must be followed.
Volunteers play an important role at Vernon Health, contributing time and support across many areas of our hospital and clinics. We work to match each volunteer with a role that fits their interests and strengths.
Volunteers receive training, flexible 2–3 hour shifts, and benefits such as appreciation events, a Gift Shop discount, monthly meals, and access to educational opportunities.
We are currently welcoming Hospital Ambassadors, Patient Companions, and Grounds & Facilities volunteers. No experience is required.
